Electronic Poker is a favored game that can be played in casinos all over the world, or in your house on your PC, through a net connection. The game rules are absolutely simple and consist of the player trying to get the greatest combination of cards as you can in order to win cash. In this respect it is much the same as a regular game of poker, apart from the interaction with any other players. Of course, techniques employed during a real-life game of poker, such as bluffing, will be useless here.

The game of Video Poker starts when the gambler inserts credits (either tokens, credit slips or cash) into the machine and pushes the deal button. A hand of 5 cards will then be electronically ‘given out’ on the screen.

The Electronic Poker game also has hold buttons, and gamblers should now pick which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the bettor wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they want, from all to none.

After the enthusiast has chosen which cards she wishes to keep, the player will then press ‘draw’, at which point any new cards are given out if desired. The hand is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands shown on the payout schedule.

Normally, the lowest winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money getting larger for each better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It goes without saying that the pay out schedule can change from game to game, so that discerning bettors are agile enough to select the most money-making ones every time.

After the first round has played out, the player can either choose to continue on in an attempt to increase their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any money that might have been won. Further, some versions of the game give the gambler a chance to double their wins, in which instance a further round is played. There are also variations between specific machines, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other varying characteristics to increase playability.
